Difference between glock 30 and 30s.
I was doing a little compareing between my subcompact 45acp pistols. Both weigh 21oz on my scales. Both have 1 inch wide slides ( give or take a hair) Both 10+1. The 30S grip is .25 inch thicker. The 145 grip is .25 inch longer. The 30S slide is .75 inch longer. 1. GX4, GX4XL.

On my Gen4, I've had two mag catches and springs replaced due to excessive wear of the catch and the notches in the mags. It is a 30 body with a 36 slide so anything that works in a 30 will work in a 30s. I carry a 30s on occasion and it has replaced my 3" Colt 1911. Amen Old Dog. The 30s grip length is shorter than the Defender. It's hard to beat the 30s for conceal carrying a .45 especially with 10 rounds of capacity.

The 30S is a gen 3 that has a slim slide and the “shortened” frame. Technically it’s a slimmer frame because I believe the width of the grip is marginally smaller horizontally if I’m not mistaken. The 30 gen 4 has the regular thick slide with the SF frame. I know, kinda confusing.This handgun has a 3.78-inch barrel length, a 6.77-inch slide. The slide is a little fatter than most Glock slides at 1.12 inches in width. The height is 4.80 inches and the whole package weighs 33.69 ounces with a fully loaded magazine. The overall length is 6.97 inches. Speaking of magazine capacity, the Glock 30 holds ten rounds standard.The gen.3 30 also has a DRSA, as do all subcompact gen.3 models. Also Gen.4 has a larger mag release that can be switched to the right side or left side of the gun. Lastly the grip texture is different then Gen.3.
